It's official: 2022 is the year of the sequel. Top Gun: Maverick was a
monster hit as the pandemic crunched the past couple of years' worth
of blockbusters into one bonanza year at the box office (apart from the films
that are delayed yet again until 2023).
These are the latest dates for your calendar as we celebrate
the big films (and hopefully a few smaller ones) hitting the
big screen and streaming services in 2022 and beyond.
Thor: Love and Thunder, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse
of Madness are among the superhero flicks that have hit the big screen, with Black Panther sequel Wakanda Forever coming very soon. Older franchises bring us Jurassic World:
Dominion and Avatar 2: The Way of Water. Luckily, there are original flicks
as well, including Jordan Peel's Nope, Everything
Everywhere All at Once and David O. Russell's Amsterdam, which
has an unbelievable cast of massive stars.
But delays are still happening: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the Mario movie, The Rock's Black Adam, Aquaman 2, Madame Web and
The Flash are all postponed. Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible 7 and 8 have been pushed back multiple times, while delays to Blade
have reshuffled phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It's been tough to keep up with all the changes. But we've got you covered
on the latest US release dates for 2022. If these dates are still in flux, we'll let you know about
the latest changes as new dates are announced. And don't forget to check out our guide to 2022's TV shows.
